The Sealed Knot re-enactment

These photographs were kindly provided by Ted Tann-Watson and document The Sealed Knot event held in Donisthorpe in 1997. They follow the event from the Muster marching up Church Street from the former Miners’ Welfare through to the conclusion of the skirmish on the Hobneys.

The images provide valuable historical evidence of the Hobneys being used for large community events, recreation and education. They also preserve residents’ memories of a significant occasion that brought people together and made the landscape part of Donisthorpe’s living history.

The photographs were scanned by Ted from the original negatives at 600 dpi.
